For many years Table Tennis has been introduced into our local primary and junior schools. Cliffedale Primary School on Northcliffe Road in Grantham started their introduction many years ago through the efforts of the (now retired) Head teacher, Mrs. Robinson.

This initiative has carried on throughout the school's life and is still supported in the school by Janet Jessop and the present Head teacher, Mr Robert Young with the invitation to play table tennis extended not only to the present pupils but also to those who are now ex-pupils of the school who can go along on Friday evenings and play.

With the school's involvement and pupil's enjoyment of the sport of table tennis, one of the school governors, Nigel Aspland, encouraged the pupils further with a donation of Trophies from Chandlers of Belton.

It was from these roots that the present Club evolved and in September 1997 the Club became Cliffedale Chandlers Table Tennis Club. With the continued support of Chandlers, the Club moved to the South Kesteven Table Tennis Centre, now part of the Meres Leisure Centre in Grantham.

Apart from the continuing school activities, the Club now meets regularly both at the Table Tennis Centre at the Grantham Meres Leisure Centre but also at the Sports Hall at Grantham College. A calendar of coaching sessions, tournaments and other activities will be published here shortly.

Our Players

We currently have:

10-13yr old players in the Regional Development Squad at Worksop.

12-16yr old players in county teams.

Players in the team finals for the East Midland Regional playing at Bristol in the under 11 category, Cadet Boys and Cadet Girls.

Our Coaches

All our coaches are fully qualified by the English Table Tennis Association and are constantly attending training to keep their skills relavent and up to date in an ever challenging sport.

All our coaches are fully C R B checked and have attended and are qualified in child protection.

At all sessions there is a qualified first aider.

In addition we have coaches who have attended and qualifies in coaching disabled athelets, also in the playing and training of games such as poly bat, table tennis, cricket etc.
